Campbell 705 Rules -
This form must be signed by students that use the Undergraduate
Astronomy Laboratory.
Behavior and Safety
- Do not give the door code out to anyone.
- You cannot have guests with you in the
lab after 5pm.
- Do not leave the door
open after 5pm, and do not open the door when people knock
after 5pm.
- Report any suspicious activity to a
contact person listed below.
- No alcohol, drugs, or smoking; in the
building or on the roof.
- Keep food and drink away from the
computers.
- The blue recycling bin is for paper only,
take bottles and cans
with you.
- Turn off all lights if you are the last
person out.
- See the list next to the phone for
emergency/safety numbers.
Computers
The Astronomy Department provides computing, networking and information
resources to authorizd users to support the University's mission of
teaching, research, and public service. The UC Office of the
President has established policy that governs the use of all university
email systems. The policy requires that users will be notified of
the policy and that users agree to comply with the policy as a
condition of use. Your use of this computer account for
communication purposes constitutes acknowledgement that such usage
complies with the UC Electronics Mail Policy. Usage which
violates this Policy may constitute grouds for legal or disciplinary
action. The Email Policy and Berkeley Campus Computer Use Policy

- Never turn off the AC.
- The computers are for astronomy related
tasks. If you are
confused about what is allowed talk to a contact person listed below.
- Students enrolled in a lab class have
priority for space and
computers.
- If you not enrolled in an astro lab
class, and need more than 1
GB of disk space, get permission from Dan Logan.
- If you must lock your screen, leave a
note that says when you
will return. Never lock your computer
overnight.
- Only use the ethernet cables with red tape for your
laptops.
